At Kunsthall 3,14, a contemporary art institution in Norway, the 29th generation of Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen’s Cosmopolitan Chicken Project (CCP) made its debut, hatching live during his solo exhibition. The nine chicks mark a new milestone as the new generation CCP29 is a unique hybrid of the Norwegian Jærhøns and the Mechelse Aseel, representing the project's continued evolution.

The city of Poperinge, inspirator Koen Vanmechelen and curators James Putnam and Michaël Vandebril present the 2024 edition of Watou Arts Festival. 'Landscape of the Imagination' takes place from July 6 to September 1. Artists and poets showcase the power of the imagination, in dialogue with each other and with several unique locations in and around the village and castle De Lovie.

De Warande in Turnhout (BE) hosts the exhibition 'Hybrids' from June 9 to November 17, 2024; an expo about miraculous creatures and their ever-evolving meaning. Koen Vanmechelen's hybrid artworks 'Chida' and 'Seduction' - crossings between humans, mythology and animal - are part of this unique exhibition that brings together historical artifacts, curiosities and the work of contemporary artists into one large cabinet of curiosities. The exhibition is curated by artist Tom Liekens (artist) and Glenn Geerinck (curator de Warande).

The city of Venice invited Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen for a partner project at this year's biennial, running from April 20 to November 24, 2024. With 'Looking for the Ark' Vanmechelens work is shown at two prominent venues: the Venetian Pavilion in the Giardini and Tesa 99 in the Arsenale Nord.

Koen Vanmechelen’s artworks are on show as part of ‘Het Narrenschip’; an exhibition organized in Ostend to celebrate Belgian grandmaster James Ensor, who passed away 75 years ago in 2024.
