Black Jaguar Foundation - Ambassador

Koen Vanmechelen is a proud ambassador of the Black Jaguar Foundation.

The BJF is an international non-profit organization, driven to restore the balance between nature and mankind. We pursue one clear objective: planting indigenous trees in on a massive scale to help realize the Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor. This corridor will become one of the largest reforestation projects on earth. A 2600 km long and up to 40 km wide corridor of native trees will emerge in the heart of Brazil.

The corridor ecologically restores parts of two of the world’s most vital ecosystems: the Amazon Rainforest and Cerrado Savanna. These two ecosystems alone produce 20% of the worlds oxygen, 30% of the world’s clean water and 25% of the ingredients for all the world’s modern medicine. By restoring parts of these ecosystems, we are ensuring a livable world for the next generation.

With partners who match our values, we will reach our goal through well-defined tasks and a step-by-step approach.
